LEZ Straight T.E. Mod

 

The original Long-EZ was built as a highly modified VariEze. In order to use already available parts such as the cowling, it was designed to make use of existing VariEze parts. The wing trailing edge was designed with a slight "kink" in it on the inboard cores in order to make the VariEze cowling fit properly. This kink is rather small and only amounts to about 0.67" in the chord length of the innermost wing template. Since many Long-EZ builders these days build their own cowlings from scratch, this kink is most likely unnecessary. Newer designs such as the E-Racer, Cozy, and Berkut all have straight trailing edges.
